Bill Eggers has been Derive Technologies’ Vice President of Solutions since 2000.
Mr. Eggers leads Derive’s dedicated healthcare practice and its public sector practice. He is responsible for the development of healthcare and public sector solution offerings, as well as for identifying and championing strategic alliances with providers of products and services unique to these and other verticals.
Mr. Eggers was co-founder of a predecessor to Derive in the mid-1980s. In his role with that company, he was involved in nascent computer networking with Novell, 3-Com, IBM, Microsoft and many others, and ultimately became responsible for its national service organization. When this company was acquired by MicroAge, Mr. Eggers was made Regional Service Director, overseeing all services in the Northeast.
Mr. Eggers was educated at New York University and Columbia University, having achieved degrees in Computer Science and Politics. He also studied and performed research in Social Psychology pertaining to group interactions in the Internet and other virtual environments.
Mr. Eggers is a longtime volunteer with the Greater New York Red Cross, has been a Shelter Manager with a NY-based on call team (PROTeam), and is a licensed Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) driver. In addition, he is registered nationally with the Disaster Service Human Resources (DSHR) network, and has extensive Red Cross and FEMA training.
